Abstract

Goat have a higher reproductive efficiency than sheep and comparable efficiency of milk production to cattle, buffaloes, and sheep. Also goat’s milk is more easily digested than cow’s milk and is less allergenic. To maximize the potential of Ettawa crossbred has been initially started by inventing its qualitative traits as a basic in standardization.
The investigation about standardization of Ettawa crossbred stock was done in three months, in four areas of West Java and Central Java those known as the sources of it, these areas were Sumedang, Bogor, Tasikmalaya, and Purwokerto County.

Descriptive-analytic method was used in order to analyze qualitative traits of the goat while 318 Ettawa crossbred were used as samples consisting of 115 male and 203 female (6 month – 1 year; > 1 – 2 years; and >2 – 4 years).
The result showed that the average of quantitative traits on several age of male Ettawa crossbred for body weight were 28.56 + 5.53; 39.44 + 9.07; 53.49 + 11.95 kg; body length were 52.31 + 8.47; 61,3 + 7.61; 63.07 + 4.91 cm; chest round were 70.64 + 6.12; 79.51 + 8.52; 89.29 + 8.11 cm; shoulder height were 66.98 + 5.66; 74.85 + 8.19; 86.57 + 5.19 cm, and female Ettawa crossbred for body weight were 21.80 + 5.21; 34.23 + 6.81; 40.85 + 7.29 kg; body length were 49.60 + 5.56; 56.67 + 5.81; 60.24 + 5.50 cm; chest round were 62.77 + 5.79; 75.72 + 6.89; 81.40 + 7.00 cm; and shoulder height were 60.06 + 5.47; 70.91 + 5.29; 74.53 + 5.16 cm.
