QUANTITATIVE TRAITS STANDARDIZATION OF ETTAWA CROSSBRED STOCK

Abstract

Goat have a higher reproductive efficiency than sheep and comparable efficiency of milk production to cattle, buffaloes, and sheep. Also goat’s milk is more easily digested than cow’s milk and is less allergenic. To maximize the potential of Ettawa crossbred has been initially started by inventing its qualitative traits as a basic in standardization.
The investigation about standardization of Ettawa crossbred stock was done in three months, in four areas of West Java and Central Java those known as the sources of it, these areas were Sumedang, Bogor, Tasikmalaya, and Purwokerto County. (more…)

Pemeliharaan Ayam Broiler periode Brooding

Tujuan brooding adalah untuk menyediakan lingkungan yang nyaman dan sehat secara efisien dan ekonomis bagi anak ayam, untuk mencapai pertumbuhan optimal.

Beberapa hal yang perlu diperhatikan:

  1. cek kondisi mobil pengangkut saat DOC datang, yang meliputi: segel, kondisi kipas, surat jalan dan cek sample DOC 10% dengan disaksikan oleh sopir pengirim.
  2. cek sample dengan memperhatikan jumlah DOC, DOC yang mati serta kondisi secara umum (lincah, diam, cacat, dll)
  3. setelah DOC dicek, segera disebar ke brooder masing-masing yang telah disiapkan.
  4. berikan air gula 2% selama 1-2 jam pertama, kemudian ganti dengan elektrolit dan antibiotika untuk 3-5 hari pertama (more…)

INTEGRATION OF KALIANDRA (Calliandra calothyrsus) LEGUME IN DAIRY CATTLE DEVELOPMENT AREA IN ORDER TO INCREASE THE MILK QUANTITY AND QUALITY

ABSTRACT

The action research was conducted at Harapan Jaya dairy cattle group, Haurgombong village, Tanjungsari, Sumedang. The treatment was divided into four treatment R1 (grass + 100% concentrate), R2 (grass + 90% concentrate + 10% Kaliandra leaf), R3 (grass + 80% concentrate + 20% Kaliandra leaf), and R4 (grass + 70% concentrate + 30% Kaliandra leaf). The experiment used 16 heads of dairy cattle and it was divided into four blocks and replicated four times. THE STUDY OF SHRIMP PRODUCTS AS BIOPROCESS BY Bacillus licheniformis AND Aspergillus niger AS FEED SUPPLEMENT ON BROILER RATION

Abstract

The ration is main factor on growth, inside breeding and poultry management. The optimize of broiler performance can be realized if will have gave ration with suitable of quality and quantity. Suitability of nutrient required in ration can be conducted with adding of feed supplement to increasing quality, utilize value, and efficiency of ration. Once of these was utilization of shrimp waste with bioprocessing through deproteination and mineralization stages. The deproteination bioprocessed used by Bacillus licheniformis bacteria, and mineralization used by Aspergillus niger mold. Bioprocess product of shrimp waste was used as feed supplement on ration of broiler. The research was conducted on Laboratory of Poultry Nutrition, Non Ruminant, and Feed Industry, and poultry cages, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Padjadjaran University, Jatinangor-Sumedang, Indonesia for eight months, since April until November 2007.
